We just sent what might be the world’s first RCS-based newsletter. Same writing, same voice—now delivered as a rich, branded message that doesn’t rely on email clients, spam filters, or subject-line gymnastics to get read.

This was a team effort.

The idea started with Lodema Steinbach, who at MWC Barcelona casually dropped, “You know, we should try sending your newsletter over RCS.” A few beats later, we were off and running.

Miriam Liszewski was hands-on every step of the way, along with the entire Sinch team. And John Bruner cleared the critical brand vetting hurdles that made it all official, pushing through evenings and weekends. That man doesn’t take a day off.

Most importantly, huge thanks to Kara Henry, Chris Michaud, and Kathy Schroeder, who saw the value in the use case and moved quickly to make it real. They accelerated the idea!

So what’s the point?

For me, this is personal. I’ve written and talked about RCS for years. But it hits different when you can actually use the channel to reach people—without having to pretend it’s a promo or a password reset.

I’m also taking some of my own advice and pushing something that’s definitely a work in progress.

This is just the first edition. More to come.
